spiraling due to myofascia?
I've been researching and trying new things with regards to spiraling. I know that myofascia may play a part in how our muscles work, but is it really a part of what takes place when we attempt a vertical jump or slj? (more research needs to be done in myofascia and how it relates to movement) I asked a MAT specialist about this phenomenom and he said it was supination pronation...that simple. He said that while we are standing, when we supinate our hands, we also supinate our feet. When we pronate our hands, we pronate our feet. A good way to test this is to pronate hands and check what your feet due...especially in a vertical jump. He was straight on! So can supinating and pronating hands during acceleration, or performing a vertical jump help? Absolutely! Especially those athletes who are stuck in pronation. Remember, supination and pronation is also a timing thing. If the timer is off, so will the movement that follows. We are practicing this in just about everything we do, and getting some very good results. Happy supination.
